The refurbished Serene Centre has reopened a dining space offering a dual day-to-night concept. The store operates as Peh Gao Coffeeshop in the mornings and afternoons until 4pm, before turning into Orh Gao Taproom for the rest of the night.
Peh Gao Coffeeshop offers a breakfast and lunch menu, comprising typical local dishes commonly found at a kopitiam (food court) with a modern twist. This includes dishes such as kaya butter toast, Vietnamese pho, nasi lemak har cheong gai and mapo tofu udon. Although coffee and tea will be served, diners may also order from the full craft beer range during the day.
Orh Gao Taproom Bar, previously opened in 2019, has returned to Serene Centre, offering its weekly rotating selection of 14 beers on tap. Spanning from lagers, to seasonal releases from local and international brewers — and even exclusive beers only available at Orh Gao Singapore, imported directly from overseas breweries — it gives variety for casual drinkers and beer enthusiasts to choose from. Besides beer, the bar also serves small plates and larger dishes to share.

Events and programming continue to be part of Orh Gao's identity following its relaunch. An upcoming highlight is a collaborative brew for Orh Gao's seventh anniversary in May, developed with Rocky Ridge. Regular events will include a monthly stand-up Sunday for comedians in collaboration with East Coast Comedy, as well as kitchen takeovers.
Designed by local architect NousNous, the refreshed property brings both coffeeshop and taproom concepts together within a single open layout.
The dining area features marine plywood, and polycarbonate panels, complemented by custom-designed contemporary interpretations of kopitiam furniture by the firm. Furniture is crafted by Chinese carpenters using interlocking joinery.
The indoor seating accommodates 45, while the sheltered outdoor area can sit 30 people and is pet-friendly.
According to the release, “With its renewed space and expanded hours, Peh Gao and Orh Gao aim to offer the neighbourhood a place that works across the day.”
