City Developments Limited (CDL) has unveiled its fourth edition of its Climate Action Exhibition series — the second of the Melting Ice, Sinking Cities series – focusing on the impacts of climate change on the Arctic.
Organised in partnership with the National Parks Board and international conservation organisation Ocean Geographic, the exhibition builds on the first instalment of the series, which launched in 2023.
The exhibition highlights the High Arctic, one of the fastest-warming regions in the world, where temperatures have increased nearly four times faster than the global average over the past four decades.

“The Arctic is not just at the frozen edge of the planet, but a keystone in the global system,” says Alvin Tan, Minister of State for National Development and Trade & Industry, at the official launch of the exhibition on Feb 5. “When the Arctic ice melts, it sets off currents of water and consequences that reach tropical island cities on the equator like Singapore,” he adds.
The event was also attended by Sylvia Earle, world-renowned marine biologist, who shared her insights and experience in leading the Bears, Ice, Glaciers — Arctic Climate Expedition (BIG ACE) in June 2025.
Located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the exhibition will be held at the CDL Green Gallery – the first zero-energy gallery in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. Donated and developed by CDL in 2013, the gallery spans 314 sqm (3,380 sq ft) and incorporates eco-friendly elements, including 105 solar panels on its roof and modular building blocks designed for future modification and reuse.
“Through this exhibition, we aim to translate scientific urgency into public awareness,” says Sherman Kwek, group CEO of CDL. He adds that the exhibition reflects CDL’s ongoing commitment to ‘Conserving as We Construct’ and belief that the built environment can help raise climate awareness.
The free exhibition is expected to run till July and is open to the public.
