HDB launches 12,411 flats for sales

The Housing & Development Board (HDB) has released a massive 12,411 flats – 7,061 BTO flats and 5,350 balance flats –as part of the November 2015 Build-To-Order (BTO) cum Sales of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise, the largest to date, on Tuesday (Nov 17).

Keen applicants gunning for BTO flats can choose from seven projects in non-mature towns of Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang, Punggol and Sengkang and three housing projects from the debut launch of Bidadari estate in Toa Payoh. 

The balance flats offered under the November 2015 SBF exercise are located in 11 non-mature towns and 14 mature towns or estates. The bulk of these SBF flats will be reserved for first-timer families, however eligible first-timer singles may also apply for a 2-room Flexi flat in non-mature towns.

This is the first sales exercise by HDB since the revision of income ceiling and enhancement of Special CPF Housing Grant (SHG) on 24 August 2015. Income ceilings for citizen households and single Singaporeans buying new flats from HDB have been raised to $12,000 and $6,000 respectively. Households earning up to $8,500 can now enjoy the SHG for their first home as compared to $6,500 previously.

The application period for this sales exercise ends on 26 Nov. The next BTO launch will commence in February 2016 where HDB will be offering about 4,150 BTO flats in Bidadari, Bukit Batok and Sengkang.
