Last month, Motto by Hilton Hong Kong Soho opened its doors. Located in the Sheung Wan District, the 274-room hotel marks the debut of the Motto brand in the Asia Pacific (Apac).
The opening comes as Hilton looks to expand its roster of luxury and lifestyle brands in the region. Earlier this year, it opened its first Waldorf Astoria property in Osaka, along with Secan Hotel Qingdao, a property under its Curio Collection, in China’s Shandong Province. In a press release, Hilton says it has now surpassed 160 trading hotels across its luxury and lifestyle categories in Apac.
Further growth is anticipated in the year ahead, with several new properties in the pipeline. These include new Waldorf Astoria hotels in Bali and Shanghai, the former set to become the brand’s first in Indonesia when it opens in 2027. Other openings scheduled over the next 12 months include NoMad Singapore and Canopy by Hilton Makati in the Philippines, both set to open in 2026.
Further down the line, several more hotels are in the pipeline, including seven Waldorf Astoria properties in Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Sydney, Xi’an, Tokyo, Delhi and Bali. The group also plans to expand its Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand to Jaipur, Kuala Lumpur, Nagoya, Bangkok and China.
“Asia Pacific continues to be an engine of growth for Hilton’s luxury and lifestyle brands,” says Alan Watts, president of Apac for Hilton. “The appetite for distinctive, experience-led stays is stronger than ever, and Hilton is proud to lead the way in shaping the future of hospitality in this vibrant region.”
Hilton says it expects to grow its portfolio of luxury and lifestyle properties in Apac by “at least another 50%” in the coming years, putting it on track to exceed 250 hotels across both categories in the region.
