Hilton Garden Inn opens 1,000th property, eyes Apac expansion

Hilton Garden Inn, a brand within the Hilton global hospitality company, has opened its latest property, Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport City Mall, in Costa Rica. In a Dec 11 press release, Hilton says the hotel marks the brand’s 1,000th property, capping off a year of “remarkable global expansion”.

This includes new properties in Asia Pacific (Apac), including Hilton Garden Inn’s first property in Beijing, China, Hilton Garden Inn Beijing Haidian Daoxiang Lake and Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang in Vietnam. Last year, the brand marked its entry into the Japanese market by opening the Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma.

There are now 76 Hilton Garden Inn properties across Apac, with the brand receiving over 2.5 million guests this year.  Heading into 2024, the brand is set to further expand in Apac, with over 150 upcoming properties in the region. Hilton says over 40% of its overall pipeline sits in Apac.

Tan adds: "With the launch of our new regional prototype and the ramp-up of franchising in markets such as China, Thailand and Australia, we are optimistic about the brand’s growth momentum and look forward to setting new benchmarks for guest satisfaction and owner value in this dynamic region.”



Hilton Garden Inn is set to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with upcoming properties such as Hilton Garden Inn Kunming Dianchi in Yunnan, China; Hilton Garden Inn Busselton in Western Australia; and Hilton Garden Inn Bangkok in Thailand.

Hilton Garden Inn is a brand under Hilton’s umbrella of properties that provides business and leisure travellers “upscale, affordable accommodations and modern amenities”. In terms of number of hotels, It is Hilton’s second-largest brand after Hampton by Hilton. Hilton has a portfolio of 22 brands, which include Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Conrad Hotels, Doubletree by Hilton and Tempo by Hilton.

It is the second-largest brand in Hilton's portfolio by the number of hotels, following Hampton by Hilton.
