Global hospitality group Hilton has announced the opening of Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort, a property nestled in the Quang Hanh valley in Cam Pha, Vietnam. The property marks Hilton’s first onsen resort in Southeast Asia and the third property under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in Vietnam.

The property is owned by Vietnamese developer Sun Group, which had operated the resort as Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh since its completion in 2020. On Feb 12, Sun Group announced it had transferred the management of the Japanese-style hot spring resort to Hilton.

Situated in Quang Hanh, renowned for its natural hot mineral springs and mountain views, Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort features 178 villas and 38 rooms. Currently, all rooms, along with 50 villas, are available for booking, with the remaining villas slated to open at the end of the year.

The villas range from two- to four-bedroom layouts, spanning 1,184 to 5,920 sq ft. Each guestroom, suite and villa features a private onsen, with hot and cold sauna facilities. For premium stays, the resort features two 13,455 sq ft, five-bedroom Presidential Villas that also include a karaoke room, private teppanyaki facilities and a wine cellar.

In addition to their private onsen, guests have access to the public onsen complex at Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh, with 27 onsen baths and 18 baths across male, female and mixed bathing areas, alongside sauna and spa facilities.

At the resort, wellness offerings include an indoor pool overlooking mountain views, a 24-hour fitness centre and a kids’ club. There are also six private dining rooms and two meeting rooms.

The resort’s dining line-up is anchored by Genji, a 210-seat modern Japanese restaurant with sushi and teppanyaki counters, as well as Genji Bar, which offers panoramic views paired with afternoon tea, cocktails and light bites. Kitchen Craft, the all-day dining restaurant serving Western, Asian and dessert selections, is currently undergoing renovations and is slated to reopen by year-end.

The resort is about 30 minutes from Ha Long and a 2½-hour drive from Hanoi. Nearby attractions include Long Tien Pagoda, Bao Hai Linh Thong Pagoda and Sung Sot Cave.

The Vietnam portfolio is Hilton’s third-largest in Southeast Asia, with 21 trading hotels. The firm says Vietnam is one of its key growth markets, with Hilton intending to double its portfolio in the country.
