SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Homegrown flexible workspace operator JustCo will open its first co-working centre in Japan in January 2022. The centre will be in a prime commercial development called Shibuya Hikarie by Tokyu Corp, located in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. The Shibuya district is a popular office location for many technology companies, start-ups and new venture firms.

JustCo Shibuya Hikarie will offer private studios as well as hot-desks areas and dedicated hot desks. The centre will be on the 33rd floor and amenities include event spaces, private phone booths, locker rental, and mail handling services.

According to Kong Wan Sing, founder and CEO of JustCo, there is an increased appetite among Japanese companies to pivot towards flexible work solutions. This bodes well for the growth of the flexible workspace industry in the country, he says.

A Tokyu Corp spokesperson says: “Businesses are increasingly seeking flexible work models to support hybrid work arrangements and work-from-anywhere policies. With JustCo’s flexible workspace at Shibuya Hikarie, tenants now have the option of complementing traditional office spaces with additional flexible workspace options.”
