The southern coast of Singapore has been further transformed with the recent completion of Corals at Keppel Bay, an iconic 366-unit condominium by Keppel Land. The project marks the second partnership between Keppel Land and world-acclaimed architect Daniel Libeskind, after the Reflections at Keppel Bay. The two developments are Libeskind’s only residential projects in Asia so far.

Corals at Keppel Bay comprises 11 blocks of five to 10 storeys each. Libenskind told the media in a press conference yesterday that he was inspired by the uniqueness of the site and the spirit of Singapore. “Just like a coral reef, the composition of each cluster of buildings is unique,” he explains. "It is a project not conceived as something abstract, but really a social space to live in. Every unit, every view, every balcony, every setting in space is unique, and so customised in a very new way to the desires of the people who will be living here."

More than 50% of the development is covered by greenery and water features. At the centre of the development sits an expansive garden surrounded by facilities including an Olympic-length swimming pool and a clubhouse that features a landscaped roof with rainwater filtration and recycling system. The development received the Green Mark GoldPlus Award by the Building and Construction Authority and the Landscape Excellence Assessment Framework Award by the National Parks Board.

To-date, about 60% of the total 366 units have found buyers. Prices averaged $2,200 psf during its launch in 2013. While a majority the buyers were Singaporeans, Keppel Land’s General Manager of Marketing Albert Foo shared that the project also saw keen interest among foreigners. About 60% of the buyers were Singaporeans while over 16% were Singapore permanent residents and the remaining foreigners. The development offers a mix of one- to four-bedroom units ranging from 600 to 3,000 sq ft as well as eight penthouses measuring 5,000 to 8,000 sq ft.

All units are equipped with a smart home mobile application which allows residents to control their home system with their smart phones. On top a concierge service, all residents are entitled to a complimentary 10-year membership and five-year subscription at Marina at Keppel Bay, which features berthing facilities and an array of dining and entertainment outlets.
