Manulife US Real Estate Management appoints new leaders following mass resignation of key executives

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Manulife US Real Estate Management, manager of Manulife US Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), announced two new key appointments on March 19. John Casasante has been named the new CEO and CIO of the manager, while Mushtaque Ali has been named CFO.

Subject to regulatory approval, Casasante will join the manager as CEO and CIO designate on April 8. He replaces William “Tripp” D. Gantt III, who is resigning and will leave the company on June 30. Casasante joins from global asset manager DWS, where he was regional director of Real Estate Asset Management Alternatives and Real Estate Assets.

Ali will join as CFO designate on April 12, with his appointment as CFO to take effect on June 30. He joins from Manulife Investment Management, where he is currently head of finance for Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Ali replaces Robert Wong, who is stepping down. In addition to taking over as CFO, Manulife says Ali will also handle responsibilities previously overseen by Deputy CEO Caroline Fong. Fong and Wong’s resignations will be effective on June 30.
