Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong unveiled future plans for Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang West, following the launch of the latest masterplan book, Ang Mo Kio Sengkang West 2.0 on Sunday. There will be newly-constructed link ways, barrier-free access points and an increase in the drop-off porches to provide more convenience to residents, especially the wheelchair-bound residents. Another 17 blocks have also been selected to undergo the Lift Upgrading Programmes.

In addition, Ang Mo Kio will become a cycling town with upcoming park connectors. Commuting convenience will be improved as well with two upcoming MRT stations, Mayflower and Lentor stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line.

Teck Ghee estate will also undergo a $38.3 million revamp over the next five years to become Singapore’s second eco-friendly neighbourhood after Yu Hua in Jurong, added Mr Lee.

All the details on the upgraded facilities and future plans are listed in the Ang Mo Kio Town Council's latest masterplan book, which will be distributed to residents starting next week.
