Space Furniture Asia Hub, an architectural landmark on Bencoolen Street, demonstrates how space can be totally reinvented with a contemporary, four-storey glass structure juxtaposed with a beautifully restored, 19th-century villa and a pair of conserved shophouses.

The 40,000 sq ft gallery within is an inspired space — the ideal stage for top-end furniture brands. The gallery was the setting for an intimate get-together for some of Singapore’s leading developers, jointly organised by Space Furniture and The Edge Singapore/EdgeProp Singapore on June 17.

“It has been a long time since we have hosted guests at our gallery in such a manner,” says Derek Lim, Space Furniture general manager, Asia, in his welcome address.

“The Edge and Space Furniture have collaborated for many years,” says Bernard Tong, CEO of The Edge Singapore/EdgeProp Singapore. “In fact, we last collaborated in the 2019 EdgeProp Excellence Awards at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore Southbeach.”

Space Furniture carries a wide range of luxury furniture brands, such as B&B Italia, Maxalto and Poliform, which have graced many a bespoke home in Singapore — from luxury apartments to bungalows, including Good Class Bungalows.

Besides homeowners, Space Furniture caters to those in the real estate industry, from architects and interior designers to luxury developers seeking high-end furniture and lighting solutions.

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Space Furniture has “a professional team, a wealth of design talent, and direct access to the world’s best brands”, adds Lim. “It is this knowledge and experience that gives Space Furniture the edge when helping developers who are seeking complete interior solutions for their buyers.”

In Singapore, Poliform kitchen and wardrobes system have graced luxury residential projects such as Corals @ Keppel Bay, Seascape at Sentosa Cove and St Regis Residences on Tanglin Road. One of the earliest projects to be fitted out with Poliform kitchens is the Soho development at 36 & 38 Armenian Street, located within two clusters of conserved Art Deco four-storey shophouses.

More recent luxury condominiums that feature Poliform systems include Eden at Draycott Park, Gramercy Park on Grange Road and Wallich Residence at Tanjong Pagar.

The Poliform wardrobe gallery located at Space Furniture Asia Hub showcases a wide range of wardrobe systems such as the Senzafine, Ubik and Cover.

B&B Italia is another sought-after brand among the well-heeled private homeowners and luxury developments such as The Ritz-Carlton Residences on Cairnhill Road in Singapore.

Space features B&B Italia’s iconic Camaleonda sofa, first designed by Italian architect Mario Bellini in 1970. It is defined by its unlimited modularity, geometric nature and distinctive capitonné design, which makes it a statement piece in any home lounge.

B&B Italia’s Borea collection of outdoor furniture designed by Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni, was launched in 2021. Positioned as an eco-design collection, the furniture emphasises design, comfort and durability, as well as the use of recycled and recyclable materials. It is ideal for any patio or terrace, and indoor-outdoor living.

Brands such as Poliform and B&B Italia are sought after by developers “who want to elevate their projects to a new level”, says Space Furniture’s Lim. “Collectively, our brands such as B&B Italia and Poliform work with the world’s leading architects and designers, making them the trusted partners for many iconic luxury developments throughout the world.”
