Amid global geopolitical tensions — the on-going Russia-Ukraine and Middle East conflicts included — hospitality operators and other private sector companies in Thailand are seeking to bolster the country’s position as a safe haven for travellers.
Centara Hotels & Resorts, one of Thailand’s leading hotel operators, issued a press release on April 7 reaffirming Thailand as a safe and welcoming destination for global travellers. “As global travellers continue to navigate a complex geopolitical landscape, Thailand stands out as a safe, stable and deeply rewarding destination for visitors from Europe and around the world,” the release states.
The release also highlights Thailand’s strong air connectivity from major European and Asia Pacific hubs, alongside Centara’s flexible booking policies and on-the-ground support.

Separately, three agencies announced a strategic partnership to position Phuket as a “safe haven destination” combining healthcare, hospitality and lifestyle experiences. The agencies are the Thai Hotels Association, integrated resort Laguna Phuket and hospital operator Bangkok Hospital Phuket Network, which is a unit of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services, Thailand's largest healthcare group.
In their April 7 press release, the organisations state that the partnership will facilitate a comprehensive ecosystem that allows travellers to Phuket to access high-quality medical care, preventative health services, as well as a lifestyle that supports long-term well-being.
This includes the implementation of a new 24-hour emergency hotline, and the provision of healthcare facilities at Laguna Phuket properties, as well as lifestyle and wellness experiences at Laguna Phuket.
