On September 8 UrWork Venture Investment (UrWork) announced its strategic partnership with Rework in Indonesia, on the heel of its pre-C round funding of US$178 million (S$239 million).

This reflects UrWorks’ expansion strategy into Southeast Asia and allows both companies to build a connected platform and integrated cross-functional resources, supporting more start-ups to scale and grow.

According to UrWork, Indonesia is a strategic terminus along the One Belt-One Road initiative and the company sees this as an opportunity to build stronger community support along the Road and Belt countries, broadening their network and community outreach in Southeast Asia.

“We see great potential in Indonesia and are excited to partner with (Rework) to revolutionise office spaces in Indonesia and we are confident that the combined force of the two companies will lead to stronger growth in the future” says Mao Daqing, founder and CEO of UrWork.

Rework’s digital mobile software centralises booking and reporting systems for an effortless online booking and communication experience for users. Rework has two offices, servicing 200 corporate members, and 1,000 individual members, with five hub locations to be complete by 2018.

“We look forward partnering with UrWork on space operation, start-up incubation, and international collaboration”, says Vanessa Hendriadi, Rework’s founder and CEO, “Linking networks also allows us both to expand our regional reach and serve the demand of our corporate customers or independent members who need to work in Indonesia and China.”
