On Dec 19, New York-based co-working giant WeWork and Chinese co-working firm UrWork announced that they have reached legal settlement on a trademark infringement dispute.

WeWork had filed a lawsuit against UrWork in New York on Sept 12 for the use of a similar brand name, according to Reuters. This came after UrWork announced in July that it was entering into a partnership with New York-based co-working operator Serendipity Labs to open a co-branded, 34,000 sq ft co-working space in Manhattan, New York.

According to a joint statement released by both parties, all pending lawsuits and administrative proceedings with regard to the dispute will be “dismissed or withdrawn”. The resolution will allow both parties to continue their expansion plans in the co-working space, says the release.
