Celine Tang, wife of Chinese tycoon Gordon Tang, wears many hats. The mother of three was appointed group managing director of Singapore- listed property development and investment firm SingHaiyi Group in December 2013. Last August, Tang was also named executive chairman and CEO of Singapore-listed OKH Global, which focuses on the development of industrial and logistics properties.
CITY SUITES is a 56-unit freehold development on Balestier Road by Singapore-listed international property developer SingHaiyi Group. What is unique about the project is that it has a wide range of one-bedroom units, which are sought-after by investors. The project is expected to obtain its Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) in 3Q2017, which means that buyers will be able to enjoy rental income almost immediately.
Balestier Road is just off Thomson Road on one end and the Novena area on the other end. Unlike most typical residential areas, which are more homogeneous in character, Balestier Road is more eclectic — with shops, eateries, hotels, temples, industrial buildings, hospitals and apartment blocks. “This makes the neighbourhood colourful and busy,” says Ong Teck Hui, JLL national director of research and consultancy.
For the busy working professional or couples living together, chances are a smaller living situation in a vibrant location would be the ideal living situation. These one- or two-bedroom shoebox units are also a lure for investors who hope to rent out these units.
Slated for completion in 3Q2017, SingHaiyi’s City Suites on Balestier Road could be just what buyers and occupants are looking for.
