Radisson Hotel Group opens new resort in Lonavala, India

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Radisson Hotel Group has opened a new resort in the hills of Lonavala in Maharashtra, India. (See also: Radisson Hotel Group to open three new hotels in Vietnam)

The Radisson Resort & Spa Lonavala spans over 14,100 sq m (151,771 sq ft), offering views of the mountainous Sahyadri range. It is a 15-minute drive from both the Lonavala and Khandala railway stations, offering accessibility for guests traveling from Mumbai, Pune and Khandala.

There are 103 rooms across four categories: Superior with balcony view; Deluxe featuring a lush green view; Suite, which offers generous space; and Presidential Suite, which comes with a five-seater open deck whirlpool.

The group aims for the resort to be the choice location to host “destination weddings, large corporate or social functions”, says Zubin Saxena, managing director and vice president, operations, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group. It will have over 4,500 sq m of indoor and outdoor event spaces across seven venues that can host up to 1,500 people.

Designed by Indian architect Kamal S Malik, the resort features an open atrium to reduce the need for air-conditioning. Natural elements such as stones from the site have been reused as stone-cladding for the entire building.

Other facilities at the resort include a 24-hour fitness centre and an interactive kids’ play area. Its outdoor swimming pool is designed after a traditional water reservoir, with views of the surrounding lush greenery.
