History & Origins
Tanjong Pagar is a historic district located within the Central Business District of Singapore. It's name in Malay means 'cape of stakes', reflecting its origins as a fishing village on a former promontory. The original name for Tanjong Pagar is also said to be Salinter, a fishing village.

Probably one of Singapore's more iconic housing developments, is the Pinnacle@Duxton. Recreation & Amenities
Unbeknownst to most Singaporeans, there are actually 4 parks in Tanjong Pagar - Duxton Plain Park (between the shophouses of Bukit Pasoh & Keong Saik), Tanjong Pagar Park (just outside Tanjong Pagar MRT), Tras Link Park (1 street down from 100 AM) & Vanda Miss Joaquim Park (at the Southern edge of The Pinnacle). Aside from these 4 parks, the area also boasts numerous retail & dining options right in the heart of the Central Business District (CBD).

URA Master Plan
The Urban Redevelopment Authority is rolling out plans to convert the CBD from a largely commercial downtown today, into a mixed-use downtown in the future. This includes the initiative to offer an increase in gross plot ratio for areas within Singapore's central business district (CBD) which will encourage the conversion of existing office developments to hotel and residential uses. The change is expected to make the CBD an attractive place to work and a vibrant place to live. This, and the ever improving connectivity options of Tanjong Pagar, is set to help Singapore anchor its position as a dynamic 24/7 financial hub.
