Global hospitality firm Hilton has secured agreements to add over 2,000 new Hilton Garden Inn rooms across China. The rooms involve upcoming properties in major business centres such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, as well as emerging leisure destinations such as Lushan and Yichun.

The agreements were signed with multiple owners at the Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit, held in China this month. In a June 15 release, the company said the deals underscore strong market confidence in Hilton Garden Inn Gen A — its hotel prototype developed specifically for the China market.

Unveiled in 2024, the brand offers design and amenities geared towards Chinese travellers. The first Hilton Garden Gen A hotels opened last year in locations including Chongqing, Sanya and Harbin.

The new signings for the brand include the 118-room Hilton Garden Inn Beijing Future Science City, the 138-key Hilton Garden Inn Guangzhou Huangpu Luogang Science City, and the 288-room Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Tianfu Square. All three are slated to open this year.

Other upcoming properties include the 119-key Hilton Garden Inn Lushan Scenic Area and the 138-room Hilton Garden Inn Yichun Mingyueshan Wenquan Road. The former is expected to open in 2027, followed by the latter in 2028.

Hilton says it intends to continue expanding the Hilton Garden Inn Gen A’s footprint through “core cities and leisure destinations” — a growth strategy, targeting established business hubs as well as emerging travel hotspots. To date, it has more than 350 trading and pipeline hotels across China.

Nong Xia, president of development for Greater China & Mongolia at Hilton believes the brand will continue to deepen its foothold in China’s upscale hospitality market by leveraging Hilton’s brand strength and reach.
