Ascott is providing lodging support to healthcare staff affected by Covid-19 across its properties in Singapore, China and France.

The firm, with support from CapitaLand Hope Foundation, provided complimentary accommodation for 12 of the care staff at Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home, one of the Covid-19 clusters in Singapore in early April. Some staff members from the nursing home were evicted by their landlords out of fear of them carrying the virus.

In China, Ascott will be offering 630 complimentary nights to healthcare workers as an appreciation of their hard work. This will be held across 31 lodging properties across 19 cities in the country, from May 1 to Dec 31, 2020.

In France, Ascott has provided over 1,500 complimentary room nights in key cities like Paris and Marseille to healthcare workers since March 23.

From April 6 to May 5, Citadines Austerlitz Paris will provide 50 rooms exclusively for healthcare workers from Assistance Publique Hopitaux de Paris, a public hospital within walking distance from the property. The initiative is in collaboration with BNP Paribas Immobilier Promotion IE and Sucres et Denrés.

“We are lending our lodging expertise to provide safe abodes to our guests as well as affected communities who need alternative accommodation,” says Kevin Goh, CEO, lodging, Capitaland Group, and CEO, The Ascott Limited.
