Located in Shanghai’s coveted French Concession district, The Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li is an ultra-luxury hotel by the BLINK Design Group. The architectural heritage and character of the historic 43,000 m2 site has been preserved by Jaya Interior Design and BLINK Design Group.

Originally comprising three-storey brick and stone-accented townhouses, the urban resort now comprises 55 individual villas, and the one- to three-bedroom suites can accommodate single families, says BLINK.

Inspired by Shanghai’s history, Chinese elements blend with French flair in the design of the complex. The spa has four single suites, a couple suite, and a premium suite. A 24-hr fitness centre has a gym and yoga room. The complex has a lap pool and plunge pools surrounded by open gardens.

The property boasts the Michelin-starred French chef Pierre Gagnaire’s first restaurant in Mainland China, the Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire. It has a 60-seat dining room with a 40-seat bar, and an eight-seat Chef’s Table.
