The three big winners of EdgeProp Singapore’s Development Innovation Award are S P Setia International’s Eco Sanctuary; Hillsta by Far East Organization, Sekisui House and China Construction (South Pacific); and Wing Tai Holdings’ 337-unit The Tembusu.

It was Eco Sanctuary’s ecological design, Hillsta’s Satoyama-inspired (Japanese concept of co-existence with nature) and The Tembusu’s design inspired by “the act of weaving” that won the day.

“These projects stood out as they are in the suburban neighbourhoods, and targeted at upgraders,” says Tan Tiong Cheng, president of Knight Frank Asia Pacific, and a judge at The EdgeProp Excellence Awards. “And they are well-designed with good layout and facilities that appeal to homeowners.”

According to Lai Huen Poh, managing director of RSP Architects, and a judge on the panel of the EdgeProp Excellence Awards, one of the projects that stood out was Eco Sanctuary. “It’s not only innovative, but quality-wise, it is really quite impressive,” he says. “It’s very organic and it leaves quite a lasting impression on you.”
