Real asset owner and manager ESR has appointed Reini Otter as CEO of its Australia and New Zealand business.

Otter has spent 28 years at Frasers Property Group, including the past seven as CEO of Frasers Property Industrial. He helped build the group’s industrial platform and expand its industrial and logistics business across Australia and Europe.

Based in Sydney, Otter will oversee ESR’s operations and growth strategy in Australia and New Zealand, including its logistics real estate and data centre businesses.

Otter succeeds Phil Pearce, who established ESR’s Australia and New Zealand business in 2018 and grew it into one of the Pacific region’s leading industrial and logistics platforms. The business has A$22.9 billion ($19.2 billion) in assets under management and an A$10.2 billion development pipeline.

Following ESR’s privatisation in 2025, Pearce was appointed president, with responsibility for the day-to-day execution of the group’s strategy and operations, including oversight of its regional leadership teams.

Otter will step down as CEO of Frasers Property Industrial on Dec 17. From Aug 1, Frasers Property Industrial managing director for Australia Ian Barter will oversee the company’s operations in Australia and Europe until a permanent CEO is appointed.
