Singapore-based real estate investment firm RealVantage is investing in a US data centre, marking the firm's inaugural foray into the digital infrastructure space. The company announced the allocation of USD7 million ($8.95 million) in equity capital for a 21-megawatt facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the US, through Bahrain-headquartered asset manager Arcapita Group Holdings.

Earlier this year, Arcapita had announced it was partnering with US data centre investment firm Cloud Capital to buy the Minneapolis facility. The partners plan to expand the facility’s capacity from 21 to 31 megawatts.

“The acquisition reflects our conviction in the structural tailwinds driving demand for data centres. It demonstrates our commitment to bringing the structural institutional-grade investment opportunities we seek to deliver for our platform members across global markets,” says Keith Ong, co-founder and group CEO, RealVantage.
