Suchad Chiaranussati, founder and chairman of Singapore-based SC Capital Partners, has acquired Fusion Hotel Group, a hospitality brand and management company based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Fusion has 18 properties with approximately 3,000 keys across Vietnam and Thailand, along with a pipeline of another 2,000 keys, SC Capital Partners announced in a March 17 press release.

Chiaranussati acquired Fusion together with Japanese hotel operator Hotel Management Japan (HMJ) and Indonesia’s Topotels Hotels & Resorts, which he also owns.

The CEO of Fusion Hotel Group is Christopher Hur. Earlier this year, SC Capital Partners had appointed Hur as its managing director for investments, with a mandate to grow the company's hospitality and living sectors.

With the acquisition, SC Capital Partners says it is eyeing to build a new pan-Asian hospitality management platform that combines properties across Fusion, HMJ and Topotels. “We’re excited to integrate Fusion with our leading teams in Japan and other markets as we build a top-tier, pan-Asian hotel management business,” adds Chiaranussati.

Together, Fusion, HMJ and Topotels have 16,000 keys across four markets: Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
