Huttons appoints Mark Yip as new CEO

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Real estate agency Huttons Group has appointed Mark Yip as its new CEO, succeeding Goh Kee Nguan who resigned on Aug 12 to pursue “other business interests”, the firm says.

Yip will take the helm effective from Nov 1, replacing Goh who has served Huttons over the past seven years. Yip will be joining Huttons from listed giant property group, City Developments Ltd (CDL) as its chief revenue officer. He first joined CDL in 2014 as its chief marketing officer. In 2016, he was also appointed CEO of CDL China. Propr to joining CDL, Yip was with another giant developer, Far East Organization, where he was deputy director, focusing on planning and operations.

The new appointment comes at “an exciting time” for Huttons which is embarking on a new chapter of growth with new associates from Savills and Century 21, according the company in its statement. Since March this year, over 100 agents at Century 21 had joined Huttons, increasing its sales force to 3,044 agents as at early September.

On September 7, a merger was announced between Savills Residential, the residential project sales business of Savills Singapore, and Huttons, consolidating the latter's position as Singapore's fourth biggest agency in terms of sales force. The merged entity is known as "Huttons - in association with Savills".
