Singapore’s real estate prices are picking up and some analysts predict that they will continue to rise as buyer interest returns.
But clearly, some neighbourhoods are more popular among homebuyers than others. So to help better understand buyer preference, we rounded up the Top 5 Singapore districts that are getting the highest levels of interest from potential homebuyers, based on EdgeProp’s database September 2017 to March 2018.

Goodwood Grand is among new projects with highest sales transaction volumes in district 10 from January 2017 to January 2018.
This upscale district offers a distinctive mix of nature and city living. Within district 10, there is a forest reserve, a horse racing track, famous celebrity haunts and the highest hill in Singapore. It is also where the most expensive home to have been sold in Singapore is located.
Based on URA data, new projects in district 10 with high sales transaction volumes from January 2017 to January 2018 include: Goodwood Grand and The Asana.

2) District 9 (Orchard, Cairnhill, River Valley)
Martin Modern was one of the best-selling new projects in district 9 over the past year.
Prime district 9 encompasses areas such as Cairnhill, River Valley and Orchard, which is home to the Singapore’s largest shopping and entertainment belt. The district is surrounded by prestigious international schools, embassies and private recreational clubs.

Connectivity-wise, Martin Modern is just a few minutes’ walk to the upcoming Great World MRT station along the Thomson-East Coast (TE) MRT line. 3) District 11 (Watten Estate, Novena, Thomson)
26 Newton recorded one of the highest sales transaction volumes among new projects in district 11 over the past year.
The quiet enclave of District 11 comprises areas like Newton, Novena, Thomson and Watten Estate, and is home to posh residential abodes and international schools.
Based on URA data, new projects in district 11 with high sales transaction volumes from January 2017 to January 2018 include: 26 Newton and 6 Derbyshire.

4) District 15 (Katong, Joo Chiat, Amber Road)
Seaside Residences is among new projects with highest sales transaction volumes in district 15 from January 2017 to January 2018.
Due to its proximity to the East Coast Park, areas located within district 15 are packed with opportunities for outdoor activities and water sports. The district also boasts intriguing pockets of local history, and is where some of Singapore’s best eateries are found.
Based on URA data, new projects in district 15 with high sales transaction volumes from January 2017 to January 2018 include: Seaside Residences, Amber Skye and Marine Blue.
It would appear that proximity to MRT stations is a key consideration for potential buyers of these developments. For instance, Seaside Residences is situated less than 400m from Siglap MRT station. Meanwhile, Amber Skye and Marine Blue are respectively located right next to the upcoming Tanjong Katong and Marine Parade MRT stations along the TE line. Gem Residences recorded one of the highest sales transaction volumes among new projects in district 12 over the past year.
District 12 covers mature estates like Serangoon, Toa Payoh and Balestier, a combination of locations with historically quaint townships. For example, Toa Payoh New Town, built by the Housing Development Board (HDB), represents Singapore’s second satellite city after Queenstown.
