Hilton to introduce LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in Tokyo and Hakone

Global hospitality giant Hilton is bringing its LXR Hotels & Resorts brand to two cities in Japan — Tokyo and Hakone.
In Tokyo, the group will rebrand Hotel Gajoen, located in Meguro, an upscale residential district.
Owned by global investment management firm Brookfield, the 60-key property is currently closed for enhancements. Operations of its rooms and restaurants will progressively resume from mid-2026, ahead of its official launch in 2027.
The Tokyo hotel will feature five dining options, a spa, fitness centre and 5,700 sq m (61,355 sq ft) of meeting and event space. Meguro Station, which is on the JR Yamanote Line (JR East), Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, Toei Mita Line (Toei Subway) and Tokyu Meguro Line, is within walking distance.

In Hakone, Hilton will debut an LXR Hotels property in the Gora area, a premier hot spring locale, in 2028. The 94-room luxury hotel spans five floors and will feature outdoor onsen facilities alongside dog-friendly rooms.
Hilton will manage the Hakone property under an agreement with Japanese firms The Sankei Building Co and Haseko Real Estate Development.
The new LXR Hotels & Resorts properties in Tokyo and Hakone will expand the brand’s presence in Japan following its debut in the country in 2021 with Roku Kyoto, located in the Kita ward.
