As a kid, Ron Chong grew up in Tanjong Pagar, living in the Duxton Plains Police Quarters as his father was a policeman. He reminisces the good ol’ days walking down the Yan Kit Swimming Complex in flip flops for a swim. Today, he is back in the area with a renewed interest. This was the key point that attracted the current owners to purchase the property, as the couple worked nearby, allowing them to save on transport costs and get a little more snooze time in the morning.

Out of a total of 1,848 units at Pinnacle @ Duxton, only one-third of the units are five-room flats.
Apart from being a son of a retired policeman, Chong is a father of two daughters. Hence, he understands what families are looking for in a home.

“Most people would make at least three property purchase decisions in their lifetime,” explains Chong, who has been a property agent for about nine years.
“First, when we get married, which will be our first home. The second time may be after five to six years, because of the children’s school needs or parental support. The third time may be to finally right size and settle down when the children are married and start their own families. To me, these are important milestones and it is my raison d’être to be able to advise my clients in finding the best home and investment at each stage of their life,” says Chong, who successfully sold the first resale unit in Pinnacle @ Duxton and set the record price for 4-room HDB flats in Singapore.
Formerly from an interior and construction background, Chong has an eye for home décor and space utilisation. “With this and cross pollination of my skills and judgement, I am able to provide clients with that extra edge in sieving through good investment properties with higher potential and assess blindspots and costs that might impact their returns on investment,” he says.
