London Square launches County Hall Kingston in South-West London

UK-based developer London Square has launched its latest residential development, County Hall Kingston, within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in South-West London, according to an Oct 14 release.
The development combines the restoration of the historic County Hall building with three newly built apartment blocks, delivering a total of 264 private homes in a mix of studios and one- to three-bedroom units. The development is slated for completion in 2027, with prices expected to start at GBP480,000 ($822,056).
The refurbished heritage building will be split into six sections, each containing a collection of apartments. Meanwhile, the three newly built buildings — Ebbstone House, Riverton House and Henmere House — will offer apartments with distinctive design specifications and layouts. Each apartment will include a private balcony or terrace.

Designed by architecture firm Rofie Judd, the project combines heritage and modern design. The project reopens a previously closed-off site, introducing new pedestrian walkways and a public landscaped garden.
Future residents will have access to facilities under the “1893 Club”. Named after the year in which the building was originally built, the club comprises a co-working space, a pilates studio equipped with reformer machines, and private dining and cinema-style rooms. A 24-hour concierge service will also be available for residents.
Several features of the original heritage building have been retained, including former council rooms such as the chairman’s office and the grand courtroom. According to London Square, the latter has appeared in various television productions, including Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Call the Midwife, and Downton Abbey.

Located within walking distance of Kingston and Surbiton Rail Stations, the project is located just 30 minutes from Central London. It is also within a 10-minute walk to several schools, such as Kingston University, Kingston College and Kingston School of Art.
Tim Gawthorn, group sales and marketing director at London Square, expects the development to garner interest from both buyers looking for a London residence and investors seeking long-term value. “Set in one of Greater London’s most desirable locations — with riverside walks, open green spaces, outstanding schools and universities, first-class amenities and excellent commuter connections — County Hall Kingston will exemplify the quality and attention to detail for which London Square is known,” he adds.
