SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Tuan Sing Holdings has received a Planning Permit from the City of Melbourne, paving the way for a transformative redevelopment of its flagship property at 121-131 Collins Street. The project, managed through its subsidiary Grand Hotel Group, will revamp the existing 550-room Grand Hyatt Hotel and retail spaces into a premier mixed-use destination featuring a luxury retail podium, flagship duplexes, and a revitalised façade.
The redevelopment aims to enhance the vibrancy of Melbourne's "Paris End" while maintaining operations for current tenants and the hotel throughout construction. Redevelopment works will commence early next year.
CEO William Liem highlighted the project's commitment to environmental sustainability, stating, “By re-imagining rather than rebuilding, we are embracing an inherently sustainable path, one that supports a thriving, connected and culturally vibrant Melbourne for generations to come.”

Tuan Sing will fund the project through a mix of bank financing and internal resources, with expectations of higher rents, improved cashflow, and a stronger property valuation upon completion.
