SINGAPORE: On Nov 3, Colliers International announced the appointment of new executives for its investment services business in Singapore, namely, Stella Hoh, Quek Soh Hoon and Harvey Chia.
The three are former partners of Land Empire, a boutique investment company they had started in late 2012.
Hoh is now head of investment sales at Colliers, as well as executive director, along with Quek, while Chia is director of investment properties.

Prior to forming Land Empire, Hoh had spent 10 years at JLL as head of its investment department.
Quek was also with JLL, and formerly its head of commercial investments.
Chia was with Citi Private Bank’s real estate investment team before joining Land Empire.
Prior to that, he had spent five years at JLL’s investment department.
Commenting on the “unplanned” move to Colliers, effective Nov 4, Hoh says:
“We can leverage on each other’s platform to grow the investment business.”
Colliers in Singapore is headed by Dennis Yeo, who is also the property consultancy’s interim CEO for Asia.
“Investment sales have always been a core business of Colliers and the firm will not hesitate to invest in resources to grow this business,” Yeo says.
Colliers was not the only one announcing new hires in its investment services business.
On Oct 27, JLL announced the appointment of Tang Wei Leng, formerly head of Colliers’ investment sales department for four years, from 2010.
Tang joined JLL on Nov 1 as a regional director of the firm’s Singapore capital markets team.
Prior to Colliers, she had been with Wachovia Bank as its director of real estate capital markets for three years.
Tang had made her mark at DTZ, where she spent 12 years and was its head of investment advisory services.
JLL also announced additional movements in its capital markets team.
Greg Hyland was appointed head of its Singapore capital markets team.
Hyland had spent the last 14 years with JLL, the last four based in Singa pore with the Asia capital markets team, concentrating primarily on China.

Prior to that, he had been in Shanghai for 10 years and ran the capital markets team there.
Hyland takes over as head of Singapore capital markets from Karamjit Singh, who was promoted to international director earlier this year.
Singh was heading both the Singapore capital markets and residential businesses.
He rejoined JLL two years ago, when the company he co-founded, Credo Real Estate, merged with the former.
Credo had carved a niche for itself in the investment market, especially for collective sales.
It is known for brokering Singapore’s largest collective sale deal, that of Farrer Court in 2007, for $1.34 billion.
Meanwhile, Tan Hong Boon, JLL’s regional director of Singapore capital markets, has been seconded to JLL’s newly established Malaysian business for an initial period of 12 months “to provide strategic and operational support” to country head YY Lau.
JLL acquired a 43% stake in YY Property Solutions in July this year.
Tan had been with Credo before joining JLL two years ago, when the entities merged.
