A new purpose-built workers’ dormitory – Pioneer Lodge Dormitory, will open in two phases from April 2025, offering quality accommodation for up to 10,500 workers. The well-designed Pioneer Lodge provides a spacious and conducive environment that will fully cater to foreign workers’ daily living needs and beyond.
Pioneer Lodge will begin its operations in two phases – phase one in April 2025, which will cater to 3,088 workers, followed by phase two in October 2025, which can accommodate another 7,412 workers. Phase one of Pioneer Lodge comprises four blocks of four-storey workers dormitories, while phase two covers an additional four blocks of nine-storey workers dormitories.
Complementing the accommodation facilities are a plethora of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and a good mix of amenities co-located within the premises and housed in an annex block that is curated to serve the workers’ needs.
Pioneer Lodge’s accessible location at Soon Lee Road near Jurong West is well-connected to major expressways, including the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) and Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), providing easy and efficient routes for the transport of workers to and from their work sites.
The launch of Pioneer Lodge is timely, given the rising demand for foreign workers’ housing to support Singapore’s growth in infrastructural projects in recent years, especially in the construction, marine shipyard and process industries – key drivers of Singapore’s economy.

Designed according to the latest guidelines on workers’ dormitories

In recent times, the government has introduced new standards for worker dormitories. Under the new guidelines, each worker will be assigned a larger living space, with a maximum of 12 workers to a room and en-suite toilets for every six workers.

Pioneer Lodge is furnished with 12 beds per room and en-suite toilets. Each room is equipped with a dedicated cooking area and laundry area, personal lockers, refrigerator and washing machine, providing a self-contained and liveable environment for the workers.

Happy workers equal productive workers

A two-storey annex block equipped with a variety of recreational facilities, provides a comfortable environment for the workers to relax and recharge in the evenings and over weekends. The facilities include an indoor gymnasium equipped with exercise equipment, a multipurpose hall for sports, and indoor recreational rooms that are fitted out for TV watching and reading.

The comprehensive range of indoor facilities is equally matched with a large variety of outdoor facilities that promote interaction and bonding. The workers will build greater camaraderie with each other by participating in popular sports activities with a plethora of sports facilities for their picking, including basketball court, hardcourt and a fitness area.
There is also an outdoor pavilion for the workers to rest and recharge in comfort outside their dormitories. Located nearby are a range of amenities such as minimarts, retail outlets ranging from barber shop to mobile services store, and canteens, bringing a world of convenience to the foreign workers to fulfil their essential needs.

Developed by Active System Development, prices of Pioneer Lodge will be in line with market price. The dormitories will be managed by Wee Hur’s joint venture partner, dormitory operator TS Group.
Pioneer Lodge is the second purpose-built workers’ dormitory development by Wee Hur Dormitory, a wholly-owned subsidiary under Wee Hur Holdings, a Singapore-listed construction and property group.

Pioneer Lodge rides on the success of Wee Hur’s first purpose-built dormitory – one of the largest in Singapore – the 15,744-bed Tuas View Dormitory that attained an impressive average occupancy rate of 98%.
With its conducive living environment, Pioneer Lodge will provide a favourable and reliable long-term housing solution for companies to house their foreign workers. This is unlike other worker dormitories that may not meet the latest regulations and will be required to undergo refurbishment that may lead to operational disruption.
Pioneer Lodge Dormitory is now open for bookings. For more details, please contact: 9149 4909 or 9009 6971.
