SC Capital Partners forms data centre investment programme with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority subsidiary

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - Singapore-based private equity real estate manger SC Capital Partners has formed a data centre investment programme with a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

According to a press release from SC Capital Partners, the firm has secured commitments from ADIA with the ability to scale up over time to US$2 billion ($2.76 billion) in equity.

The newly announced programme targets data centre investments across the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia. Additionally, ADIA will invest in SC Capital Partners’ pan-Asian opportunistic investment strategy.

“This new programme complements our existing pan-Asian opportunistic strategy and allows us to significantly scale up our data centre capabilities and platform in the fastest developing data centre region in the world,” says Suchad Chiaranussati, chairman and founder of SC Capital Partners.

This news follows a March 2022 announcement from SC Capital Partners that it had created a pan-Asian data centre platform subsidiary called SC Zeus Data Centres. This platform is based in Singapore with a presence in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

The platform offers design, development, asset management, leasing/sales, project management, operations, and technical services for data centres in the Asia Pacific. SC Zeus Data Centres will be the operating partner for the new data centre investment programme.
