Led by founder and CEO Eric Cheng, Sevens Group has steadily grown its portfolio, recently surpassing $500 million in gross development value. With projects spanning across Singapore and Australia, the group has an exciting and healthy development pipeline.
Beyond its prestigious projects, the group is further differentiating itself from its competitors with the opening of Sevens Atelier and Sevens Cafe.
With a combined floor area of approximately 8,500 sq ft, Sevens Atelier and Sevens Cafe will be spaced across three 2-storey shophouses at 29 to 33 Joo Chiat Place. The first level features Sevens Cafe, which has a seating capacity of approximately 50 diners. The second level is a fully fitted, smart-home incorporated showroom with a modern contemporary theme and luxury elements.

Standing out from competitors
Sevens Atelier is the first concept of its kind by a landed property developer in Singapore. The inspiration to open Sevens Atelier was driven by the intent to elevate a home buyer’s property-buying experience beyond just a transaction.
Landed home buyers who purchase a property off-plan or during construction do not have the luxury of visualising their home until construction is complete. Unlike condominium developers which often have showflats where potential buyers can browse tastefully decorated mock-up units of their prospective apartments, this is much less common for landed developers.
The group aims to remedy this with Sevens Atelier, a dedicated space that showcases the synergy and ecosystem between Sevens Group and Sevens Build, its design and build consultancy-cum-project management arm. The space allows potential buyers to view property models and showrooms for ongoing and upcoming projects, as well as browse materials, fixtures, electrical appliances and sanitary fittings, which ultimately helps them better visualise their future home.

Taking the concept a notch further, the developer has also integrated an F&B element within the space with the opening of Sevens Cafe right beside Sevens Atelier.
Incorporating a full-fledged cafe not only differentiates its show gallery from its competitors, but also serves to round out clients’ experience, offering a relaxing area where they can enjoy refreshments after visiting the product gallery and showrooms.
Home buyers will have a relaxing area to browse choice materials to be used for the building of the houses
The group has invested some $5 million into making Sevens Atelier a state-of-the-art destination where home buyers can elevate their home-buying experience using the latest technology and smart systems. The choice of Joo Chiat Place as the location for the flagship sales gallery and cafe was due to Sevens Group’s strong presence in the eastern region, notably District 15.
Convenient access to public parking was another key factor during the venue hunt. The bus stop and huge public carpark located directly opposite 29 to 33 Joo Chiat Place was a major plus-point for the group, in order to facilitate easy parking access for clients. Lastly, Joo Chiat, being a colourful heritage district with a plethora of F&B and lifestyle amenities, automatically attracts crowds from all over the island.

Venturing into the dynamic world of F&B
Sevens Cafe is designed based on a modern-Australian concept, which was deliberately chosen as a tribute to Sevens Group’s presence in Australia. The interior features curves and arches meant to evoke the landscape of sand dunes, while the walls are decorated with warm, sandy-hued textured wallpaper, emitting a cosy, relaxing ambience. An eye-catching gold chandelier rests comfortably above the dining area, creating an Instagram-worthy area for photo-taking. During its soft launch on Aug 24, 2021, the cafe drew waves of cafe lovers, renowned food bloggers and celebrities.

The cafe's menu is a reflection of the Australian influence and offers a wide selection of western fusion specials such as 7s Brekky, 7s Avod, single origin coffees, aromatic teas and hand-crafted desserts which include Panna Cotta Pandano and Bananarama Tartlet, all of which are made fresh daily by the cafe’s dedicated in-house team, complete with pastry chefs and baristas.
The cafe is open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm, serving as an ideal all-day breakfast destination for those who love to start their day early.

Rapid expansion plans
Sevens Group has recently acquired a prime shop unit nestled in the Tiong Bahru Heritage Vicinity, located just a stone’s throw away from the Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre. It will be unveiling two brand new dining experiences - 7s Kissaten and 7s Kappo. The former will introduce a Japanese fusion food concept with notable items such as Don Buri, Yakitori, Onigirazu (Japanese wrapped rice ball), Chazuke (Japanese rice soup), Wagyu Sando (Japanese wagyu sandwich), and many more.
The latter will offer an intimate dining experience in the evenings upon advance reservations only. Diners will be introduced to pre-dinner cocktails, followed by a sumptuous 8-12 course Kappo concept. Both 7s Kissaten and 7s Kappo will be launched in 4Q2021.
After the successful launch of Sevens Cafe, the group will be venturing into two more F&B concepts focused on Japanese fusion cuisine
“Tiong Bahru has always been famous for its rich heritage and quaint cafes, and we are thrilled to be embarking on this new exciting venture!” notes CEO Cheng.
