The partnership will strengthen Surbana Jurong’s presence in the US and European markets, and provide better access and knowledge sharing across different markets, says the group. It adds that this move will also open more collaborative projects for both companies in the future.
Atelier Ten and Surbana Jurong have successful collaborations in Singapore, such as Jewel Changi Airport, one of the world’s largest air-conditioned gardens that balances the competing demands of abundant heat and light for plants. They are also involved in the Mandai rejuvenation project.
Other notable projects by Atelier Ten include Singapore’s Gardens By the Bay, which incorporates environmental design that embeds both building-scale and city-scale circular economy principles. The company also designed the spiky shading system that gives The Esplanade its durian-like appearance.
