Growing up in Singapore meant that you would have at least heard of this famous food centre at least once. Chomp Chomp Food Centre is probably as famous as Serangoon itself. Before there were malls and hipster cafes, Chomp Chomp was the iconic supper spot in Serangoon. Known for local delights such as Hokkien Mee, Wanton Noodles and even Michelin Starred Satay, it is no surprise to find long queues for some of the more famous stalls. An example would be Ah Hock Fried Hokkien Mee where wait times could be as long as 45 minutes for this plate of scrumptious noodles. Despite the ever-changing landscape of cafes and malls, Chomp Chomp forever remains a favourite amongst those who not only who live in Serangoon but all over Singapore as well.
With so much to offer, Serangoon Gardens is a food paradise of its own; from local delights like Char Kway Teow to Artisan Bakeries with Spelt sourdough bread, there is something for everyone.
