Asia Pacific-focused real asset management group ESR is partnering with Seoul-based Wide Creek Asset Management to develop its first data centre in South Korea, according to a Nov 17 release.
Situated in Incheon’s Bupyeong district, the 80-megawatt nine-storey KR1 Data Centre (KR1) is expected to be operational by 2028, with ESR and Wide Creek AMC jointly undertaking the construction of the facility’s core and shell. It will be leased to Singapore-headquartered Princeton Digital Group, which will oversee internal fit-outs and operations.
The developers are targeting to obtain LEED Gold certification for KR1, the second-highest tier under the US Green Building Council’s LEED rating system for sustainable design and construction. The facility will include features such as solar panels and fuel cells to maximise energy efficiency.
