The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) have launched a public tender for a new Next-Generation Driving Centre (NGDC) at Lorong Bistari, located on the western fringe of Choa Chu Kang.
The proposed facility will replace the current Bukit Batok Driving Centre (BBDC), which is slated to close by the end of 2030 to make way for new residential developments. At a land size of 2.4ha and spanning a maximum gross floor area (GFA) of 780,390 sq ft, the NGDC is envisioned as a modern, technology-enabled training hub for all vehicle classes.
According to URA, the NGDC will feature intelligent driving circuits, simulator-based training, and real-time monitoring systems to enhance driver assessment and safety. It will also support Class 4 and 5 heavy vehicle training, supplementing the Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC), which is currently the only facility offering such courses.

The facility will feature a multi-storey design to optimise land use while accommodating growing demand for driving licences. Strategically located near the Yew Tee MRT station, the Lorong Bistari site will improve access for motorists in the West region, complementing existing facilities in the North and East.
The tender will close on Jan 15, 2026 at 12pm.
