"We will have more placemaking and programming to make this town square the happening heart of Pasir Ris-Changi," said Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Finance, and Second Minister for National Development, at the opening event.

The new town square is part of the ongoing transformation of the wider neighbourhood under HDB’s Remaking Our Heartland programme to renew and further develop existing HDB towns and estates.
It follows a series of developments and enhancements for Pasir Ris-Changi, including the 2024 opening of the mall and the completion of the new bus interchange and redeveloped polyclinic.
Pasir Ris Mall, jointly developed by Allgreen Properties and Kerry Properties, is the retail component of the mixed-use development that includes the 487-unit Pasir Ris 8 private condo. The residential project saw a take-up rate of 85.2% during its launch weekend in 2021.
Indranee noted on June 26 that the opening of the town square is "part of the much broader overall plans that we have put in place for Pasir Ris".
"There are many exciting things that residents can look forward to and by 2030, our town will be transformed," she added.

For instance, she highlighted the new Build-To-Order (BTO) project, Costa Riviera, which was launched during the October 2024 HDB sales exercise and will be completed in 2028. It will sit next to another BTO project, Costa Grove, where residents have collected their keys last year and this year.
Another example is the 2.6km-long Loyang Viaduct, which will connect the Changi aviation hub through Loyang to Tampines. It is expected to be completed in 2028.
The construction of the four MRT stations across Pasir Ris-Changi are also "making good progress", Indranee said. The connection of these stations to Tampines is expected to be completed and operational by 2030, and the connection to Punggol in 2032.
The Changi Northern Corridor — a major 9km-long road project stretching from Loyang Avenue to Changi Coast Road — will be completed by 2030 in tandem with the MRT stations.

To support an active lifestyle, the Land Transport Authority is enhancing the cycling path network along the upper part of Loyang Avenue, Telok Paku Road, Nicholl Drive and Changi Coast Road.
"The sports centre just across will be renovated to provide even better sports facilities for residents, and we will be rolling out more active ageing centres across the town," Indranee noted.
